FAQs

Skylight Mobile Outdoor Cinema :: FAQs

Please find our frequently asked questions below but if something is covered don’t hesitate to contact us.

Does it have to be dark?

Yes, you can get away with an hour before sunset in certain locations but until dusk arrives you can’t see the image on the screen.

Can I provide the film ?

If you want to manage your own event that is no problem, please make sure you have two copies of the DVD and you have the appropriate license. We recommend www.filmbank.co.uk who have prices starting for £132.

How much space do you need?

It depends on the set up but we can provide different options depending on what you need. If you’re concerned about space contact us with the details and we’ll let you know the best way to move forward.

How do you weight the inflatable screen down?

We base our quotes on a grass set up on the assumption that we can spike into the ground for the screen guy ropes. If your site is not on grass this is not a problem but you will need to arrange for weights to hold the screen up and we can send you the spec and layout for these if necessary.

Are you insured?

Yes we have full public liability insurance for the cinema and if you go for a fully managed solution we also have event management insurance.

What do we need to tell the audience?

The main thing is to make sure they bring a camping chair and loads of warm clothing. It is suppressing how cold you can get when sat still so blankets and sleeping bags make for a much more comfortable experience. In addition to this people love to bring a picnic, a bottle of wine, some nibbles and a hot flask can make all the difference.

Can you suggest a good film ?

Of course we can. We love film, that’s why we do this. Check out our Ideas page for some inspiration.
